Joel Selwood Tipped to Win the 2014 Brownlow Medal

Joel Selwood has made up massive ground in the race for the AFL 2014 Brownlow Medal. He has had a great second half of the season and its expected to continue if last weekends efforts are to go by.

Joel Selwood

He was clearly the best on ground and should get the 3 votes.

Joel Selwood was crunched from 6.00 into 4.00 with Sportsbet after the 3 vote game to be equal favourite with Sydneys Josh Kennedy who drifted slightly from 3.50 out to 4.00.

My prediction is that Selwood will take home the top prize. With Ablett all but out of the race I think he is the next standout player in a team without any massive stars that will take votes away from him, the umpires have always polled Selwwod well in previous years which is another indicator to give him the nod.

Scott Pendlebury at 5.00 and Gary Ablett surprisingly at 7.00 round out the top 4.

Sportsbet are running another betting market of ineligible players to “win” the Brownlow. Nathan Fyfe is tipped to poll the most Brownlow votes which should make or a good spectacle come the big night. He is actually overall favourite to poll the most vote out of the whole comp at 3.00 which has slowly shortened since Gary Ablett’s injury.

Sportsbet have become the place to bet on the AFL with their popular AFL head to head refund if you lose by 20 points or under. Sportsbet hit the headlines when they refunded all Brownlow Medal bets made on Gary Ablett when he announced he would not play the remainder of the season.

Sportsbet are currently offering new members a $25 bonus bet just for depositing $10! see the Sportsbet site here for more info on this offer.
