AFL Round 7 Betting Preview 2017

AFL Betting Preview – Round 7

Round 6 finished with the Crows as the top side in the AFL once again. While two former powerhouses sit at the bottom of the ladder in the Hawks and Swans. In Round 7, Port Adelaide against West Coast should be the best game of the week. The Magpies upset the Cats last week and face their arch rivals in the Blues at the MCG.

Bet for Free previews the two best games of AFL Round 7, 2017 and we provide our best bets for each game.

Port Adelaide Power vs West Coast Eagles

Odds: Power $1.38, Eagles $3.05

The Power have won two straight by large margins over the Blues and Lions. West Coast will be a tougher battle and they’ve lost the past two against them in Adelaide.

West Coast defeated the Dockers in the derby and kicked 7 goals in the first quarter. They responded after a 50 point loss to the Hawks last week.

Port have a clean bill of health for this match.

The Eagles have a few concerns with Vardy most likely out and Sam Mitchell is still sore from an ankle injury a few weeks ago.

Last 3 meetings:

Round 9, 2016
Adelaide Oval
Port Adelaide defeated by West Coast 86-94

Round 6, 2015
Adelaide Oval
Port Adelaide defeated by West Coast 68-78

Round 5, 2014
Domain Stadium
West Coast defeated by Port Adelaide 56-70

Margin/Line betting:

The last four meetings have finished under a 15 point margin, so this figures to be another tight contest between two sides in the top eight.

To get 30+ disposals:

Matt Priddis has a good record against the Power and picked up 32 last week. Andrew Gaff is in fine form this season and collected 34 disposals against the Dockers. While for the Power, Robbie Gray has led the Power in the last two meetings, however he’s playing more forward this year.

We think this will be closer than the odds say as both sides matchup evenly. We’re going with the home side to win but the Eagles to get within 18.5 points.

Best bet: Eagles +18.5 ($1.90)
Value bet: Power 1-39 ($2.15)

Western Bulldogs vs Richmond Tigers

Odds: Bulldogs $1.35, Tigers $3.20

The Doggies lost to the Giants by under a goal last week in a bruising encounter. They sit 7th on the ladder with 4 wins and 2 losses.

Richmond lost their first game of the season against the Crows and sit fourth on the ladder. The Tigers were smashed in contested possessions and will need to improve against the Bulldogs.

Tom Liberatore is in doubt with concussion, while Tom Campbell should return in the ruck.

Toby Nankervis is out for a week after suspension in a blow for the Tigers. Reece Conca picked up an ankle injury and could miss this match.

Last 3 meetings:

Round 16, 2016
Etihad Stadium
Western Bulldogs defeat Richmond 85-75

Round 2, 2015
Richmond defeated by Western Bulldogs 66-85

Round 3, 2014
Etihad Stadium
Western Bulldogs defeat Richmond 100-98

Margin/Line betting:

Since 2014, the Bulldogs have won the last three. However, the margin has finished under 20 points in all three matches. The Bulldogs have also scored 85 points in back-to-back clashes against Richmond.

To get 30+ disposals:

Dustin Martin loves playing the Doggies and picked up 38 disposals in the last meeting. He has collected 30+ in the last two. For the Bulldogs, Luke Dahlhaus is the best bet as he averages 27 disposals per game.

We’re tipping the Bulldogs at home in a close match, they should have more points in them compared to the Tigers.

Best bet: Bulldogs -6.5 ($1.50)
Value bet: Bulldogs 1-39 ($2.20)
