AFL Round 6 Betting Preview 2017

AFL Betting Preview – Round 6

Round 6 of the AFL season looks to be another cracker after the Anzac Round last weekend. We’ll have four teams in the top eight play each other and the Derby over in Perth. Friday night starts with the Giants clash against the Bulldogs in Canberra.

Bet for Free previews the two best games of AFL Round 6, 2017 and we provide our best bets for each game.

GWS Giants vs Western Bulldogs

Odds: Giants $1.32, Bulldogs $3.42

The Giants and Bulldogs meet for the first time since last year’s epic Prelim Final, which the Bulldogs won by a goal on their way to Grand Final victory. GWS have won four straight matches and will be hyped for their first Friday night match in AFL history. While, the Bulldogs haven’t been at their best this season, they’ve still won 4 of 5 matches. They kicked 12 goals in the second half last week to defeat the Lions by 32 points.

Toby Greene is free to play after a rough conduct charge.

Matthew Boyd and Josh Dunkley picked up minor injuries but should be right.

Last 3 meetings:

Preliminary Final, 2016
Spotless Stadium
GWS defeated by Western Bulldogs 83-89

Round 9 2016
Spotless Stadium
GWS defeats Western Bulldogs 98-73

Round 9 2015
Etihad Stadium
Western Bulldogs defeat GWS 113-68

Margin/Line betting:

This should be a similar result to last year in terms of the margin (6 points). Both sides have a few players missing from last year which also evens the advantage. Although, the Giants haven’t had a close game yet this season with the nearest points being 31 against Port.

To get 30+ disposals:

Luke Dahlhaus had 32 disposals in the last meeting and has recorded over 30 twice this season. He’s your best bet. Tom Scully collected 30 as well in the Prelim and had 32 against Port two weeks ago at this venue.

We’re tipping the Giants at home in a close match, they should have more points in them compared to the Bulldogs.

Best bet: Over 185.5 points ($1.90)
Value bet: GWS 1-39 ($2.10)
First goal scorer: J. Cameron ($8.00)

Adelaide Crows vs Richmond Tigers

Odds: Crows $1.19, Tigers $4.90

We can’t wait for this clash between the first placed Crows and the third placed Tigers. The Tigers are 5-0 for the first time since 1995. While, the Crows forward line has been unstoppable in their five wins.

Daniel Talia is out with a hamstring.

The Tigers escaped without injuries in the wet against Melbourne.

Last 3 meetings:

Round 3, 2016
Etihad Stadium
Richmond defeated by Adelaide 92-128

Round 19, 2015
Adelaide Oval
Adelaide defeats Richmond 88-52

Round 21, 2014
Adelaide Oval
Adelaide defeated by Richmond 69-79

Margin/Line betting:

The Crows have won the past two meetings by around 30 points. They’ve scored 153 points in the past two games this season and the Power was the closest team (17 points) in terms of margins. The Tigers have won three games this year by around 20 points but they’ll need to stop the Crows forward line.

To get 30+ disposals:

Matt Crouch and Rory Laird both average 31 disposals per game and would be the best choices from the Crows. Dustin Martin had 32 last week and averages 29 per game.

A team will end their undefeated streak in this match and we can’t bet against the Crows at Adelaide Oval.

Best bet: Crows -24.5 ($1.62)
Value bet: Over 193.5 points ($1.90)
First goal scorer: T. Walker ($)
