Racing Betting Preview – Morphettville, May 6 2017

Bet for Free previews the two main races at Morphettville this Saturday – the Australasian Oaks and the Robert Sangster Stakes. We provide an overview of the main favourites in each race and our best bets.

Distance: 2000m
Track: Morphettville

Kenedna – $3.30
Kenedna is the favourite for the Oaks after two straight wins at Morphettville. Trained by Darren Weir, Kenedna has a 42$ career win rate. John Allen has rode the last win two wins. She’ll start out of the 3 barrier.

Egg Tart – $4.00
Egg Tart is in sparkling form with three straight wins. She has a career win rate of 67%. She’s untried at the distance but has the form to upset Kenedna.

Toffee Nose – $7.50
Toffee Nose comes into this race with solid form, having finished in the placings in her last five races. She won the VGold Health in her last start, which was at the same distance as the Oaks.

Savvy Dreams – $12.00
Savvy Dreams finished middle of the field in her last race at Morphettville. She has a 50% career place rate. Craig Williams is a quality jockey and could ride her into the top three.

Sword of Light – $12.00
Sword of Light has won two straight and provides a value bet for punters in the trifecta. She’s yet to race at the distance. Damian Lane rode the win last time around and rides again this week.

Harlow Gold – $15.00
Harlow Gold has been solid without a victory this year and could finish in the top three. She prefers the 1400m-1600m, so the 2000m is a bit of a stretch. Her career record at the distance is a third placing from 2 starts.

Sedanzer – 43% career win rate
Lilymorn – 83% career place rate

Kenedna is the form horse of the field and deserves favouritism. In the trifecta, we would select; Kenedna, Egg Tart and Sword of Light.

Distance: 1200m
Track: Morphettville

English – $4.40
English was the favourite to win the All Aged Stakes last race, but finished mid-field. At this distance, English finished an unlucky second to Chautauqua in the TJ Smith Stakes. She’s trained by Gai Waterhouse and has a career 31% win rate.

Sheidel – $4.80
Sheidel is one of the veterans in the field and has a career 40% win rate at this distance. Her form has been average, finishing 6th in the William Reid Stakes and 4th in the Newmarket at Moonee Valley.

I Am A Star – $8.00
She finished 8th of 20 in Doncaster last month and resumes from a spell for the Robert Sangster Stakes this week. Dean Yendall has won 3 of 4 rides on I Am A Star.

Super Cash – $8.00
Super Cash is coming off a two month spell after finishing 8th in the Newmarket Stakes at Flemington in March. Her first-up record is impressive with 3 wins a third from 4 races. She also beat Chautauqua and I Am A Star at the Rubiton in February.

Ravi – $10.00
Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, Ravi has only raced once this year, finished 4th in the Sapphire. She has a 2-1-1 record at the distance in 7 starts. She has a 33% win record on good tracks.

Lake Como – 40% career win rate.
Miss Gunpowder – 38% career win rate.
Egyptian Symbol – 80% career place rate.

Super Cash has an excellent first up record and has beaten quality fields this season, we’re tipping her to win the 2017 Robert Sangster Stakes. Our trifecta tip would be: Super Cash, English and Sheidel.
